Introduction to the Aurion Pooled Funds

The Aurion Pooled Funds are intended for accredited investors, family offices and institutional investors who want funds that seek a higher level of relative return with some additional risk.  Certain investment minimums apply.

Aurion II Equity Fund

The Aurion II Equity Fund, which was launched in January, 2006, is a high Alpha equity fund investing mainly in North American securities.  Aurion II is an Index relative fund that seeks a higher level of value added relative to the broad Canadian equity market.

Aurion II holds a concentrated portfolio of Canadian equity securities with the ability to hold non-Canadian names and with the ability to hold short positions on an opportunistic basis.  Over the long term, the Fund is positioned to capture earnings growth and the portfolio is actively traded to capture short term pricing anomalies that exist in the market.  This distinct investment approach is consistent with the process used for our institutional Canadian equity products.

Aurion Income Opportunities Fund

The Aurion Income Opportunities Fund, which was launched on March 17, 2009, is an income fund that takes advantage of a broad range of investments in the fixed income markets.  Income Opportunities seeks a higher level of total return from both income and capital gains.

Aurion Income Opportunities holds a concentrated portfolio of mainly investment grade bonds and other fixed income securities with the ability to invest a significant portion of the fund outside Canada.  The investment positions are actively managed and traded as we seek to capture value using the traditional levers of duration, curve positioning, sector allocation and security selection.  This investment process is consistent with the process used for our institutional fixed income portfolios.

Aurion Global Opportunities Fund

The Aurion Global Opportunities Fund seeks to generate superior risk adjusted absolute long term returns by means of employing multiple investment

The Fund is actively managed by employing the best ideas of the Aurion portfolio management team within the asset classes of equities, fixed income, currencies and commodities. Allocation among the asset classes reflect the global macro views and themes of the Aurion portfolio managers over a 1 to 12 month time horizon. A disciplined risk management process is employed with oversight from Aurion’s Risk Manager.
